Our Mission
The mission of Project HANDS is to unite concerned people (residents, renters, business people, and property owners) of the city of Macomb, Illinois. We strive to enhance the safety and quality of life for all persons of our city, through activism, education, and advocacy.
It is our goal to promote positive development in our community through:
- education of the public regarding laws/ordinances in our community
- providing citizen oversight of actions which affect neighborhood quality of life
- reporting of land uses which violate laws/ordinances
- supplying of research & documentation to decision-makers as needed
- providing a voice for residential perspectives in community discussions
- promotion of responsible, legal use of properties within the city
- supporting the efforts of individuals and sub-groups to enhance their neighborhoods
- serving as an information resource to temporary residents
